Mr. Barry Drummond prides himself on the traditional and highly effective butchery skills he learned as an apprentice from master butchers at the start of his long career. The attention to quality training continues today, with all B. Drummond’s staff sharing the same traditional craft skills, knowledge and experience. Barry’s ‘Best Regional Apprentice Butcher’ award in 1974’ may even be replicated by his latest staff member Chris, who is currently studying at Sparsholt College for his own apprentice butchery qualification.

B Drummond Butchers has won many awards for its products, the most notable being an international Gold award for dry cured bacon. Whilst keeping a traditional theme to the shop environment, B Drummond Butchers continually strive for the highest standards and conform to the latest hygiene regulations required by the Food Standards Agency for the 4 starSafe to Eat’ Award, awarded in 2014.

In addition to the counter service provided for regular retail customers, the shop supplies meat to hotels, restaurants, schools and caterers and is now enjoying rapid growth and increased demand with the introduction of the on-line home delivery service.

With so much going on, Barry is sure that his busy independent shop will continue to deliver a quality service for many years to come.
